Rosanna M. Fiske, APR, is chair and chief executive officer of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). She is also program director of the Global Strategic Communications master’s program in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Florida International University in Miami. With more than 20 years of experience, Fiske began her career as a journalist, and then moved to marketing and corporate communications. She has held senior communications counsel, marketing and management positions in agency and corporate settings.
 
 
Before joining academia, Fiske was partner and senior counsel at Florida-based Communiqué Group, an integrated communications firm serving corporate clients nationally and internationally, where she specialized in financial, corporate and executive communications. Prior to that, Fiske was vice president at Ketchum Miami, responsible for the global account management of consumer-marketing clients, overseeing work completed in the U.S., Asia, Europe and Latin America.
 
Fiske has worked directly with Fortune 500 CEOs, senior management teams and boards of directors in strategic planning, management structuring and re-engineering, and return-on-investment initiatives. She has led programs in crisis and employee communications, multicultural and global initiatives, and strategic and executive communications for a number of industry leaders, including Charles Schwab & Co., MTV Networks, American Airlines, MCI, Anheuser-Busch Companies and Wells Fargo Bank. As a result, she has been invited to speak and participate in different conferences and forums, including the National Society of Hispanic MBAs, PRWeek's Diversity Roundtable and the University of Florida's Business Advisory Council.
 
Fiske received PRSA's Multicultural Communications Section 2002 D. Parke Gibson Pioneer Award — the nation's highest individual honor in multicultural communications. She has also been awarded two Silver Anvils and a CIPRA, recognizing outstanding work in public relations. She has counseled several nonprofit organizations and worked directly with their boards of directors on strategic and operational planning and implementation, including Goodwill Industries of Greater Miami, the Hispanic Heritage Festival, the Organization of Chinese Americans and the Schwab Foundation.
 
In addition to overseeing the School of Journalism and Mass Communication's largest master's program, Fiske serves as senator in FIU's Faculty Senate, elected to represent the interests of her department. She earned a Master of Science in integrated communications and a Bachelor of Science in journalism and mass communication.
